Slevin Mors: A dark fine art photographer evoking the haunting beauty lurking within us all.

Drawn to the border between light and shadow, beauty and decay, I create images that envelop people in the euphoria of the darkness. A fine art photographer from Orange County, California, my artistic journey began in portraiture and has evolved into a body of fine art works that immerse viewers in the atmospheres, landscapes, and compositions of objects that others disregard as morbid or macabre. Through my lens, I strive to reveal the somber beauty within the spaces often shunned—a fusion of horror and elegance inspired by Victorian lore, gothic literature, and the grand storytelling of noir cinema.

My fascination with shadowed places began as a child with a simple camera. In high school, I fell deeper into the allure of independent films, dark comedic entertainment, and Hollywood’s golden age. While working in a video store, I had access to a trove of obscure and cinematic stories, which deeply influenced my vision. By 2013, I began to find my artistic voice, using the lens to embrace the juxtapositions of life through personally resonating subjects and new creative challenges. During the isolation in 2020, I committed to refining my practice to capture the mystery of stormy nights, mist-laden cemeteries, and the profound silence found in liminal spaces. Each frame is a moment of release, a push toward my own artistic boundaries.

Over the years, my work has been featured in notable publications such as Gothesque Magazine and Sanctuary Magazine, as well as producing a self-published book of my works. Today, I continue to explore the timeless pull of shadows, drawing viewers to follow me into life’s darker corners where beauty and complexity await.
