Artist Statement

I have always been drawn to the shadows—those spaces heavy with silence, where light barely lingers. Today, my work weaves between worlds, capturing the latent, dark beauty others might shy away from. Photography is my way of exploring the macabre within us all. Through my images, I seek to guide viewers into these realms, creating scenes that stir both introspection and catharsis.

I embrace the cinematic, crafting atmospheres steeped in fog, cast shadows, and moments suspended in time. Black-and-white images sculpt stark contrasts and striking textures. Whereas, rich palettes and vivid colors transform my subjects into rich, soft, borderline painterly photographs that accentuate form and add an ambience of visceral energy. I employ a candid storytelling approach, seizing fleeting seconds and obscure perspectives to elevate everyday objects and landscapes into symbols of the transience of being. The work I create is intentionally unsettling with a sensorial atmosphere that reflects the eeriness hidden within each frame. Each composition offers glimpses of life and decay, the mundane transformed into something mysteriously eternal.

Impermanence, decay, and duality are woven throughout my work. Inspired by literary figures like Edgar Allan Poe and Clive Barker combined with Victorian lore, classic fairy tales, and noir, I have discovered an ability to capture places that exude a quiet yet profound darkness. Dismantling and contorting the dichotomies that define life and death, I explore the natural strains of human existence and the veiled beauty in gloom.

Each image is a tapestry of shadows traversing our inner darkness, questioning the boundaries of comfort, and finding beauty in the ephemeral. My photographs create a lasting haunting imprint, lingering like a memory that surfaces in times of silent self-reflection.
